Antoinette Strydom-Fourie
Antoinette Strydom-Fourie is a dynamic multidisciplinary artist and heritage professional with a robust background in Fine Arts, Heritage, Museum, and Preservation Studies. She earned her BA Fine Arts degree from the University of the Free State in 2020, specializing in ceramics and sculpture. Her artistic practice is enriched by a strong interest in curatorship and art handling, underscoring her commitment to both the creation and stewardship of art.
An active contributor to the South African art scene, Antoinette notably participated in the Artbank SA Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme โBanking with Art โ Connecting Livesโ in 2020/2021. Her curatorial prowess was highlighted in the โHOMEโ exhibition (2021) at Oliewenhuis Art Museum and further refined during her tenure as an arts administration and project intern at Art Bank of South Africa, where she was instrumental in managing projects, collaborations, and media content.
Antoinette’s curatorial achievements include the curation of “This is Us: Celebrating 29 Years of Freedom,” featured at the Free State Arts Festival in 2023. Known for her meticulous approach, she ensures that each project is executed with precision and committed to excellence.
Currently, Antoinette is advancing her academic journey by pursuing an MSocSci in Heritage and Cultural Sciences, specializing in Heritage Conservation at the University of Pretoria. This builds on her BSocSci (Hons) in Heritage, Museum, and Preservation Studies. Her academic and professional pursuits are driven by a passion for preserving cultural heritage and a steadfast dedication to the arts.
