Aphiwe Kozana | BSc (Honours)

Aphiwe obtained a BSc degree from the University of the Free State majoring in Botany and Zoology. She has a Honours degree in Botany (Molecular biology) and is currently doing a Master’s degree focusing on the identification of wheat viruses and associated vectors.

Her studies and research interest have been influenced by her fascination with nature, the dynamics that exists between plants and animals, living organisms and their environment and therefore identifies generally as a researcher.

Aphiwe was an intern in the Ornithology department. She worked on various aspects of bird collections, bird ringing and she conducted research. She was also a registered observer on the SABAP2 project and she conducted bird surveys in the Free State and surrounding areas.
