Sharon Snell
Sharon Snell is the CEO/Director of the National Museum in South Africa. The National Museum is a natural history, cultural history, and art museum. There are five satellite museums including Florisbad Quaternary Research Station and Oliewenhuis Art Museum. Sharon previously served on the EXCO of the Board of SASCE, NEDLAC Disability Task team, Joburg City Safety Strategy Committee for the 2010 Soccer World Cup and, she currently serves on the Disciplinary Committee of the IODSA. She is also the editor of the scientific magazine, CULNA and was instrumental in taking the magazine online. Prior to joining the Museum, she served in the following portfolios:
- Chief Executive Officer of the South African Board for Sheriffs (Department of Justice)
- Chief Operations Officer of the Insurance Sector Training Authority (Department of Higher Education and Training)
- Senior Strategy Manager – Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority
- Head of Law Enforcement for Planning and Building Control in the City of Joburg
