In 2017 the National Museum commemorated the centenary of South Africa’s struggle icon and former ANC president, Oliver Reginald Tambo (1917–1993). A temporary display depicting the life and times of Tambo, with photographs, text and books, was unveiled during the Museum’s Africa Day event in May. The display highlighted the key events of Tambo’s long and illustrious life.
